Paul Michael Haider, son of Frank and Theresa Haider, was born on October 25, 1966, and passed away on October 28, 2021. He grew up in the suburban cornfields of Aurora, Illinois with his younger brother, Tim, before moving to the orange groves of Irvine in Orange County, California. He attended St. Cecilia Catholic School in Tustin and later attended Mater Dei High School. At Mater Dei, Paul ran track, cross country, and pole vaulted for the Monarchs. He was an avid surfer during his high school years and later attended college at California State University Fullerton, where he graduated with a degree in Finance. During that time, he began his five-year courtship with his future wife Maggie. They were married in September 1993.
Paul lived the last 27 years of his life in Fullerton, California. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He worked in the healthcare industry nearly his entire career and was proud to be a part of Generations Healthcare where he worked for over two decades. His greatest goal, which was achieved, was seeing his two children graduate from college and develop into smart, thoughtful, and caring young adults.
A long time resident of Fullerton, Paul was active in local politics. He often attended city council meetings, voicing his opinion on local proceedings. Paul also liked investigating stock market trends and found great joy in sharing the information with those close to him. He enjoyed watching his beloved Chicago Bears and Cubs play…and sometimes even win. He was an outdoor enthusiast, enjoying boating, hiking, fishing and off-roading in his prized jeep. He had a passion for music, especially hard rock. Paul was a spirited host when celebrating the holidays, focusing in on every detail to ensure a great time was had by all. He was a man with an infectious spirit, boundless generosity, and a laugh that brought joy to those around him.
Paul was a genuine and sincere man. He will be remembered for his continuous smile, contagious laugh, endless positivity, and his tremendous love for life. His family often joked that, like his electric car, he ran on sunshine!
